Freeze Frame Effect with Filmora9
How to make a freeze-frame sequence in Filmora9. Welcome
back to two-minute tips. This is the series where we teach you a new editing
trick in two minutes or less because your time is valuable. In this two-minute
tip, I'm gonna show you how to create a freeze-frame sequence like this:
Pretty cool huh? Alright, let's get into it. Start the
timer. While you're filming, make sure you have a steady shot with no camera
shakes. Also, avoid shooting against a busy background or one that has a
similar color to your subject. Make the background of your shot contrast with
your subject. For the best result, use a bright background with a darker
subject.
n Filmora9, drag your clip to the timeline and match the
project settings to the media. Now, let's scrub through and find a good frame
to freeze... there. Let's take a snapshot. Just click the camera icon under the
preview window. Make sure you don't move the player after you've taken the
snapshot. Find your snapshot in the media library and drag it onto the layer
above your clip.
Make sure it's placed exactly where you took it from where
the playhead then extends the length to match the clip. We have to do this a
couple more times. To see the full clip, we'll have to hide the first freeze
frame by clicking this eye icon.
Now, we'll find a new frame and repeat the whole process.
After you've taken and placed all the snapshots you want, click the eye icons
again to make them visible. Now double-click on the first snapshot so its
properties show up Find the compositing section, then change the blend mode to
"darken". Repeat this for each still All done.
Now just play it back. And that's all you got to do to make
a simple freeze-frame sequence effect. Is there another editing trick like this
one that you would like to learn? Let us know in the comments below. We'd love
to help you out. Until next time, keep creating!
